Obituary for Deborah Aiken (Gillard)

Deborah (Gillard) Aiken passed away in Bel Air, MD on 19 January 2013. Deborah was born in Batavia, New York, the daughter of Norman R. (Jack) and Ella Mae (Tufts) Gillard. She graduated from Le Roy High School in 1967, and married James Aiken in 1968 in Le Roy, New York. They traveled extensively as her husband was active military for twenty two years. She established a day care center in Nuremburg, Germany while living there. She is a past president of the Officer’s Wives Club at Dugway Proving Ground, UT and Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. Deborah attended Harford Community College in Maryland where she Graduated Cum Laude and became a Registered Nurse after raising her children. She worked in Medical Surgical areas at hospitals in both MD and VA. She was a wonderful cook and loved to spoil her grandchildren.
Deborah is survived by her husband, James of Bel Air, Maryland; son and daughter-in-law, James and Sheryl of Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and David of Montpelier, VT and a sister-in-law Mary Ellen Gillard of Lyndonville NY. She has five grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Rebecca, Ethan and Grayson, and two great grandchildren, Rylee and Conner, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by both her parents and both of her brothers, Dr. Daniel Gillard and Dr. Douglas Gillard and her beloved aunt Marjorie Gillard RN, CRNA.
Friends and acquaintances may visit at the Cameron-Brady and Stueber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott St., Le Roy, NY from 7 – 9 pm on Friday, 25 January 2013. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 10 am Saturday, with interment in the Stafford Cemetery following the service.
