Abbott, David C.
LeRoy: 75, beloved husband & best friend of Rachel (Cordaro) Abbott for 54 years, passed away peacefully March 17, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV. David was born in Batavia, NY on March 19, 1939, to the late Amos and Helen (Niccloy) Abbott. Spending most of his life in LeRoy, David was self employed for 40 years-- first in masonry, and later as a distributor for Pepperidge Farm Bread, where he was awarded Distributor of the Year in 1988.
After relocating to Las Vegas, David started a new career with Station Casinos, retiring in 2011 after 18 years. David was an avid football fan (Go, Giants!), enjoyed old westerns, music, and playing the slots. David is survived by his wife, Rachel; son, Daniel Abbott; daughters, Michele (Jim) Kelly, Mary (Don) Gibelyou; along with his sister, Mary Judith Abbott. David was also very proud of his 2 grandsons, Ricky & Austin; and great-grandsons, Connor & Logan. David was predeceased by his sister, Katherine Abbott; and his son, David C. Abbott Jr. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
Friends are invited to call Friday, 4-7 PM at the Cameron, Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott St. (Rte. 19), LeRoy. David’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy St. Peter’s Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy. Interment, St. Francis Cemetery.
