Obituary for Paul Irwin "Bubby" Carmichael

Paul Irwin "Bubby" Carmichael
Carmichael, Paul Irwin (“Bubby”), age 93, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in LeRoy, New York, November 1, 1922, to the late James Walter Carmichael and Mabel Whiting Carmichael. Paul served in the U.S. Army during World War II and re-enlisted for an additional tour, during which he met his wife, Mary, who was a civilian employee on base in Pennsylvania. After leaving the military, he worked for Lapp Insulator as an electrician and electrical foreman until retiring in 1984.
Paul was predeceased by his parents; wife, Mary Shillow Carmichael, brothers, James and John Carmichael; and sisters, Helen Carmichael and Etta Jane Seeley. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (Michael) Dougherty of Glen St. Mary, FL; brother George (Rita) Carmichael of LeRoy; and many nieces and nephews. Paul loved carpentry and gave away lots of clocks and picture frames that we still have today. The memory of his dry humor should bring a smile to many.
