Obituary for Paul Joseph Czapranski

Paul Joseph Czapranski
Czapranski, Paul Joseph
Scottsville:
Passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on February 25, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his parents, Paul Czapranski Sr. and Mary Kelly Czapranski and nephew, Zachary Czapranski. Paul was the eldest son who is survived by his devoted wife Laurie Beth (Iler) Czapranski, his sons Christopher Oonk (step-son), Paul Benjamin (Ben), and Nathan Czapranski. Paul is also survived by his siblings: Mary Ann Weber, Susan Czapranski, Timothy (Jocelyn) Czapranski, Kimberly (Robert Osborn) Czapranski, and John (Jack) Czapranski. Paul is also survived by well loved nieces and nephews: Dustin (Abigail Giarusso) Weber, Carolyn Weber, Amber, Sarah, Amanda, Jarrod, John, and Jacob Czapranski. Never one to let any grass grow under his feet, Paul was a man of action and principle. He lived his life fully in accordance with his love for his family, his passion for the natural world, including the family farm, the Oatka Creek, his camp, and the Adirondack Mountains, as well as his dedication to all aspects of his local community. Paul was instrumental as a leader of Boy Scout Troop # 140, where he was known to build by hand a canoe in his garage (with scout involvement) for a yearly fundraising effort; Paul taught by doing.

The Town of Greece benefited from thirty plus years of Paul’s expertise as The Technical Services Coordinator, where he was instrumental in FEMA policy interpretation and application, as well as a frequent instructor.

His Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Paul’s life on Monday February 29, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of The Assumption Church, 99 Main St., Scottsville, NY. A private family interment will follow at Holy Angel’s Cemetery Scottsville, after which the family asks Paul’s friends to join us for a reception to be held at The Smith-Warren Post of the American Legion, 61 Main Street, Scottsville. Contributions should be made to BSA Troop 140. C/O Smith-Warren Post of The American Legion, 61 Main Street, Scottsville, N.Y. 14546 to facilitate a scholarship fund that will provide funding for Camp Massawepie attendance.
