Obituary for Rita M. O’Toole

LeRoy: Rita M. O’Toole 9/4/2011
Rita O’Toole of St. Mark’s Street, LeRoy, NY passed away on the evening of Sunday September 4, 2011 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.
Rita was born on February 3, 1929 in Saskatchewan, Canada to the late William & Margaret (Junk) Dauk. Raised on a farm, she went on to university in Saskatoon and earned degrees in art and music. Rita taught for many years at Holy Family School in LeRoy. For her dedication and passion for teaching, Rita received the Elizabeth Ann Seton Award from the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. Rita was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Church and a lay member of the Mercedarian Third Order.
She is survived by her children, Maura O’Toole of LeRoy, Terry (Karen) O’Toole of Webster and Shauna O’Toole of Newark; daughter-in-law Laura Viscome of Baldwinsville; sister, Verna Maier, and sister-in-law Linda Dauk, both of Canada; grandchildren, Michael, Rose, Katie, Brenna, Brendan and Elizabeth O’Toole; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Wilfred, a sister Catherine, and husband Dr. Robert O’Toole.
Family & friends may call at the Cameron Brady & Steuber Funeral Home, 111 Wolcott St. (Rt. 19 South) LeRoy, on Thursday, September 8 from 4-7 PM. Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 9 at 10AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church (St. Peter’s Building) in LeRoy. Interment will immediately follow at St. Francis Cemetery.
