John F. Klizas

STRATFORD, CT. - John Klizas of Stratford, CT passed away peacefully at the age of 97 on March 7, 2019. John was a warm, intelligent and amiable man with a great sense of humor and love for family and friends. If John sat next to you at the track or the local watering hole you’ve just made a new friend.

John was born on October 10, 1921 in St. Clair, PA the son of the late Charles and Anna (Kralicas) Klizas. He attended St.Clair High School and was an alter boy at St. Casimir church. He served his country in the army during WWII and used the G.I. bill to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State. After college he joined the Haloid company in Rochester, NY to help bring Xerography to market. He held a host of management positions at Xerox before retiring in 1986. He continued on as a consultant to various Xerox companies after his retirement. He moved to Stratford, CT in 1976 and was a member of St. Mark’s church.

John is survived by his wife of 64 years Palma (Morreale) Klizas, sons Stephen and Mark and a dozen nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 4-6 PM at the J.H. Cameron Funeral Home, 26 Rochester Street, Scottsville. His Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Marianne Cope Parish at Guardian Angels Church, 2061 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Honor Flight Philadelphia, P.O. Box 003, Broomall, PA 19008.
