I remember visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Florida every year; their lovely little trailer on Toucan Trail in Spring Hill. The smell of the laundry room, riding the 3-wheel bicycles around the neighborhood, the Spanish moss hanging from the big tree in the yard, swinging on the front porch swing, finding good luck charms for Grandma to take to Bingo with her, dodging the fire ant hills in the yard, admiring Grandpa’s golf trophies while sitting on the funky fabric couch with the bowl of walnuts on the side table and helping wash the dishes after Grandma cooked a dinner that more often than not included black-eyed peas and cornbread. Midge was the best Grandma; always willing to French braid our hair with her long fingernails and let us listen to The Judds cassette tapes in her big Buick. I’ll remember these trips fondly, when we were all together, laughing and making memories, as a Family. Sadly, these memories are now all that remain of the happy times that once were.

Sweetest Aunt anyone could ask for. Aunt Midge and Uncle Buck and the Dempsey Family were always special to the Nichols Family. I'm sure Mom (Ruth) has been waiting for her. I can hear mom saying now, ITS ABOUT TIME YOU GOT HERE!! We will love and miss them both forever. Love to the Dempsey Family from the Nichols Family.
