Obituary for Shane Douglas Burger

Shane Douglas Burger passed away Monday June 21, 2021 at age 46 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born October 18, 1974 to Douglas and Lorna Burger, Shane graduated from Pavilion in 1993, and attended college at St. John Fisher. He worked for many years in restaurant management including; Batavia Downs, Creekside Inn, Taco Bell, Tully’s, Woody’s and others.
Shane was awarded the VITA Samaritan Award for performing CPR on a co-worker in cardiac arrest. He also was awarded the Carnegie Metal of Heroism and Hometown Hero Award both for rescuing a young girl from a burning car.
He is survived by his parents, Douglas and Lorna Burger, his son, Kaden Burger, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services and interment will be held privately. Donations in Shane’s honor will be accepted for a trust fund for Kaden Burger c/o Douglas and Lorna Burger, 9766 Roanoke Rd., Pavilion, NY 14525.
